Art Class
Pre Kindergarten classes painted a mural while exploring cool colors.
First Graders learned about the artwork of
African American Artist Alma Woodsey Thomas,

Early Childhood Music
Our early childhood students have been having fun learning about jazz and some famous jazz artists.
Our Nursery 2 and 3 classes were introduced to Louis Armstrong and enjoyed listening to and playing along with his music. The children listened to the book When Louis Armstrong Taught Me to Scat and had some fun singing scat phrases and creating their own scat rhythms.
Nursery 2 loved singing along with the Alphabet Scat.
The Nursery 3 students loved the Bubble Gum Scat from the book
Louis Armstrong Taught Me to Scat.
The Pre-K listened to the book Trombone Shorty by Troy Andrews (aka Trombone Shorty).
They had a great time listening to, singing, and playing along with the music of Trombone Shorty.
Kindergarten listened to the story Ella Queen of Jazz
and enjoyed listening to the music of Ella Fitzgerald.

SHOE TYING
WAYS TO PRACTICE SHOE TYING :
Parents, this skill does not have to be done all at once. Break it down into steps.
Example:
~make at X with your laces,
~out one lace under the X,
~pull to make a knot,
~make one bunny ear
~make the other bunny ear
~cross bunny ears
~push ear through the hole
There are SEVERAL ways to tie shoes these days. Watch the videos and let your child figure out which one works best for them.
